The workshop aims to improve physical awareness, mindful movement, and correct alignment of postures using specialized techniques from traditional yoga styles, namely Ashtanga & Iyengar Yoga.
The workshop is open to individuals of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. In case of past or current injuries, doctors’ consent is required to join the workshop.
The main objective of the workshop is to become acquainted with the Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series, which is a set of yoga postures incorporated with Ujjayi breath, Bandhas (Internal locks), and Drishti (Gazing point).
While practicing this traditional set of sequences, one will learn all the foundational poses from the Ashtanga Vinyasa Primary Series. A deeper practice is achieved through a proper understanding of the poses. Learning how to align the body with the breath and the breath with the mind will be taught. Through the practice of this, one reaches a no-mind state; i.e., going from pose to pause. The art of studying individual pose benefits the practitioner in understanding the structure of their own practice, making the practice injury-free, and gaining significant insight into their own body.
In this workshop, one will receive specialized training in how to use yoga props and adapt them into their day-to-day practice.
